IVA & MOT Testing

IVA, handled by people who pass it every week.

IVA is the test that proves an imported car meets UK standards. It takes place at a DVSA test centre, and our team specialises in getting cars through it. We prepare the car, take it to the test and handle any retest, so you don’t have to.

FAQ

Testing: common questions.

Still have a question?

Talk to a real person who imports cars every day.

What is IVA?

Individual Vehicle Approval is a DVSA test that proves an imported car meets UK safety and environmental standards. Most cars under 10 years old that weren’t built for the UK need it.

Where does the IVA test take place?

At a DVSA test centre. We don’t run a test centre ourselves; our IVA specialists prepare the car to the DVSA standard, transport it to the centre and present it for you.

My car is over 10 years old. Does it need IVA?

Usually not. Vehicles over 10 years old need an MOT (if under 40 years old) and a rear fog light where one isn’t fitted. Vehicles over 3 years old that do need IVA also need an MOT.

What if the car fails?

We fix whatever was flagged and rebook the test. You’ll see the reason and the cost of any extra work before we start.
